Clarifications on the status update of the construction of the second building for school of Anena:
1. Quality of construction materials
We have tried to observe and refine the type of stone for construction purpose as per your suggestions. Since the contractor has his own lorry to transport standard quality stones with sufficient amount from nearby surrounding (Anbesamie area), we made follow ups and communicated the contractor to use the required type of stones reliable for the building. We can assure you that the contractor will use the right amount and standard type of stones and materials as well. The stones that you observed on the pictures were at the first phase of collection where the school community showed their interests by bringing it to the construction site through labour contributions.
2. Water Pump
We tried to dig the water point well but unfortunately after 5 meters depth we couldn’t get water because the community found bedrock inside which requires machine for drilling. The community and the school are trying their best to have water point in the other school compound and will continue their efforts until they get the water which would be used for sanitation, hygiene and drinking for the school community. However, there is a nearby river flowing throughout the year that is 50 meters away from the school. And the school is using that river for plantation and seedlings.
